Lowest new price: $9.39
Lowest used price: $12.95
List price: $19.98
2013 two CD collection containing highlights from Eric Clapton's celebrated music festival. In addition to rousing performances of Blues classics and renowned hit songs, many of the most memorable performances saw artists coming together for some stirring collaborations. Among the highlights were the surprise pairing of John Mayer and Keith Urban for the Beatles' "Don't Let Me Down," Vince Gill and Clapton taking on "Lay Down Sally," Keb Mo and Taj Mahal covering the Sleepy John Estes' song, "Diving Duck Blues," Gill performing "Tumbling Dice" with Urban and Albert Lee and members of the Allman Brothers - Gregg Allman, Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks - joined forces for a haunting acoustic cover of Neil Young's "The Needle and the Damage Done." As you would expect, Clapton features prominently throughout the show. The legendary guitarist also tore through the Derek and the Dominos' classic "Why Does Love Got to Be So Sad" with the Allman Brothers Band, revisiting the time in 2009 when he joined the band during their annual residency at the Beacon Theater in New York.
|Vapor Trails (Remixed)

Lowest used price: $5.99
List price: $11.98
2013's celebration of Rush includes the highly anticipated release of a remixed version of the band 2002's album Vapor Trails. In 2009, two tracks from Vapor Trails ("One Little Victory" and "Earthshine") were remixed for the Retrospective III collection, setting fans into a frenzy in anticipation of a possible remixed version of the entire album being released one day. Four years later, that day approached.
"Vapor Trails was an album made under difficult and emotional circumstances - sort of like Rush learning how to be Rush again - and as a result, mistakes were made that we have longed to correct. David Bottrill's remixes have finally brought some justice and clarity to this deserving body of our work," says Geddy Lee.
"Every song has been given a new life, from the fire of "One Little Victory," "Secret Touch," and "Ceiling Unlimited" to the melodic musicality of "Sweet Miracle" and "How It Is"… these songs have been redeemed. Thank you David!"
The remixed version of Vapor Trails is also be included in the 7-disc boxed set The Studio Albums 1989-2007, which features every studio album Rush recorded for Atlantic Records.
|Jersey Boys (2005 Original Broadway Cast Recording)
Lowest new price: $7.13
Lowest used price: $2.50
List price: $18.98
Recounting the rich history and reliving the timeless sounds of the phenomenal Frankie Vallie & The 4 Seasons, the new Broadway musical Jersey Boys answers the musical-and philosophical question, "How did four would-be wise guys from Newark, NJ, become one of the greatest chart-topping successes in pop music history?" Jersey Boys celebrates legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito, and Nick Massi who, as the 4 seasons, wrote their own songs, invented their own identity, and sold 175 million records worldwide-all before they were 30. Rhino. 2005.
Although it squarely falls in the "jukebox musical" category, Jersey Boys doesn¹t try to integrate its songs in an artificial plotline. The show tells the story of the early-1960s group the Four Seasons, and the musical numbers tend to be introduced in context, as when songwriter Bob Gaudio comes up with a tune, or the quartet performs a show. This allows Jersey Boys to flow better than some of ill-fated peers, and the actors can shine without having to bend backward to accommodate an inane book. The show's most (only) daring move is to start with a hip-hop-tinged French-language version of "December 1963 (Oh, What a Night)," an actual hit in France in 2000. After that it's all VH1-biopic territory, but it's done with so much flair, taste and energy that the ride's a fun one. The Four Seasons had enough hits ("Sherry," "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Rag Doll," etc.) to easily fill an evening at the theater, so it's left to the cast to do right by them. And it does, particularly John Lloyd Young as the band¹s star lead, Frankie Valli. Young hits all the falsetto notes and brings real freshness to the part. His "Can¹t Take My Eyes Off You," a second-act peak, is signed, sealed and delivered with a star's acumen. --Elisabeth Vincentelli

|The Very Best Of Cher
Lowest new price: $6.99
Lowest used price: $1.99
List price: $18.98
Brand: SOMERSET ENTERTAINMENT
The only Cher collection to contain every one of her #1 hits! And those were Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves; Half-Breed; Dark Lady; Believe , and (with Sonny) I Got You Babe , plus this 21-track beauty boasts such smashes as The Beat Goes On; Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down); If I Could Turn Back Time; Just Like Jesse James; All I Really Want to Do , and more. The one to have!
Given a five-decade career that's been one long series of critical write-offs and subsequent comeback triumphs, it's tempting to argue that the natural elements are actually earth, wind, fire, water--and Cher. Anchored by her 1998 international mega-success "Believe" (the song that made Cher the oldest woman to score a chart topper) and its equally club-savvy contemporary collaborations with producers Mark Taylor and Brian Rawlings, "Song for the Lonely" and "A Different Kind of Love Song," this 21-track anthology is indeed the first to contain all her No. 1 hits, stretching back to her epochal 1965 duet with Sonny Bono on the faux-Dylan "I Got You Babe." And if it shortchanges her Phil Spector-rooted origins and a true perspective on her '60s and '70s career (though kitsch classic chart toppers "Dark Lady," "Half-Breed," and "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves" are all here) to focus on her string of '80s and '90s pop successes in service of writers like Diane Warren ("If I Could Turn Back Time") and Desmond Child ("Just Like Jesse James"), it's good to remember that, according to the pop soothsayers, none of them were even supposed to happen, let alone make her an icon for a whole new generation. It's a tribute to sheer, fashion-defying willpower--and as unlikely an argument for the notion of "the singer, not the song" as one is likely to find. --Jerry McCulley

|Eric Clapton Unplugged Deluxe Edition
Lowest new price: $14.49
Lowest used price: $13.77
List price: $24.98
Eric Clapton was already an acknowledged master of the electric guitar in January 1992 when he traded his signature Stratocaster for an acoustic Martin to record Unplugged. The live album captured the legendary guitarist, backed by a small band, performing acoustic versions of his own songs and several blues standards. Released later that same year, the album was an unqualified blockbuster, selling more than 19 million copies worldwide and earning six Grammy Awards, sweeping the top honors, including Record of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of the Year.
Reprise Records celebrates Clapton s electrifying acoustic performances with a new 2-CD/DVD collection that includes a remastered version of the original album along with six unreleased outtakes on two CDs. The DVD features a newly restored version of the concert, as well as more than an hour of previously unseen footage from the rehearsal.
For the original album s 14 performances, Clapton reinterpreted songs from his rich catalog, including "Layla" completely reimagined as a shuffle from his time with Derek and the Dominos, "Running On Faith" and "Old Love" from 1989 s Journeyman, and the hit single "Tears In Heaven," a song he wrote after the passing of his young son Conor the previous year. Much of the album showcases blues songs Clapton grew up listening to, like Bo Diddley s "Before You Accuse Me," Big Bill Broonzy s "Hey Hey," Leadbelly s "Alberta" and Robert Johnson s "Malted Milk."
The second disc includes several songs not on the original album, such as a cover of "Big Maceo" Merriweather s "Worried Life Blues," an alternate take of "Walkin Blues" and early versions of "Circus" and "My Father s Eyes" songs that would surface six years later on Clapton s album Pilgrim.
The DVD included in this collection contains a newly restored version of the original broadcast, which aired August 25, 1992 on MTV. For the first time ever, fans will also have the opportunity to see more than an hour of unreleased footage recorded during the pre-show rehearsal. Filmed from multiple camera angles, it features an intimate look at Clapton and the band working on arrangements and running through 14 songs, including "Circus" and "My Father s Eyes," which were not featured in the final broadcast.
