So I thought well, maybe these bits aren't intended for hard metals (even though they should have worked with hard metals, or maybe I just didn't look into it enough) so I ended up finding the Dremel 9929 Engraver Diamond Point Bit. From the second I put this on the dremel my results were 1000x better! I was getting very clean precision engravings in some pretty hard metal. Not sure exactly what the metal was, but I was engraving a tactical combat knife so it had to be some pretty hard metal and it engraved like a champ! I haven't engraved too much stuff, but it has already been miles better than any other engraving bit I've tried (I'm a newb to engraving though). Anyone doing some simple CNC machining with a dremel, this bit is a must. Next I want to try glass and stone. We'll see how that goes...
