Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

This was the most economical choice when I had busted the pins that held the cover in place. This version does not have a removable lid. The bad news is that it can't be fully removed for cleaning. The good news is I can't break it again by removing and replacing said lid. Recommended.
I completly agree with the first reviewer - the coffee maker itself is great. Its simple, inexpensive, long lasting, and makes good coffee. But the carafe is too weak. It should be made of strong pyrex glass, but instead it seems to cracks too easily. My first carafe cracked after about a year and I ordered this replacement. I was always very careful with the second one, but after about a year, it cracked also. Now I am ordering my third one. I am also like one of the other reviewers who said he refuses to buy another coffee maker out of principle. I don't like metal carafes because you cant see how much coffee you have left. I feel like I'm buying a new coffee maker each year. Its almost like the business models with ink-jet printers - sell the printers cheap and kill them with the recurring cost of ink. Here, its the recurring cost of the carafes.
First, I want to say thank you to everyone who wrote a review. I was/am in the same boat as everyone else who loves the coffee maker but hate the carafe breaking all the time. And, it broke at the worst time...the weekend I was hosting my mother-in-law. In a panic, I seriously considered buying a new coffee maker but I love that the Braun is small, simple, and brews a HOT pot of coffee so it was worth buying "another" carafe and pay for the rush shipping charges. My Braun is over 15 yrs old and I hope it'll last many more years. The carafe fit perfectly and I actually think the glass is a tad thicker. Thank you Amazon for carrying those hard to find items that are no longer available.
I was concerned about the durability when I read the reviews, but it is holding up just fine. Seemed a little pricey, but could not find the same coffee maker to replace the whole thing.
The ad says it is a replacement for all Braun coffee pots. The pot doesn't fit my 12 pot Braun coffee maker. It doesn't activate the the drip mechanism. Don't buy it if you are using it for a 12 cup coffee maker because you will end up returning it.
We're 20+ year users of the Braun Aromaster 10-cup Coffee Maker. It makes great coffee. Out of principle, we won't update to anything fancier. Who needs more bells and whistles than this? It does not wake you, schedule automatically, turn you into a barista, read your e-mail, require special thimble-sized inserts, etc. It dependably makes good coffee. That's all, and all we need.
But the carafe? It's a notoriously thin-skinned, poorly engineered, sensitive soul. Logically, yes, we should upgrade our coffeemaker because the economics of standing pat on the Aromaster 10-cup doesn't compute: looking back at our ordering records here on Amazon, I see we're going through these carafes now at the rate of two every 13 months. The glass cracks at the slightest tap. The little apparatus designed to hold the top on to the carafe is made of cheap, narrow plastic. That part is guaranteed to break after - at best - three months. After that, the covering just sort of balances on the top of the carafe and serves little purpose other than to direct the brewed coffee into the hole. It says something about our faithfulness to the Aromaster that we stick with it despite this Carafe Annuity.
We have had our Braun coffeemaker for over 15 years. While we can replace it with a higher end model, we have a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" philosophy to spending money. Well, dang it all if I didn't break the carafe last week while washing it. Truthfully, I was glad because I've been wanting a "better" coffee maker. I jumped on the opportunity to research coffeemakers but my head spun after reading countless conflicting reviews across all price points. Reviews were marred with complaints of bad coffee, machines catching on fire, heating elements that stop working affter 12 months, etc. I was surprised that complaints were across the board from $80 to $300 machines. After all was said and done, I decided to replace the carafe. The new carafe is actually improved from my original. The spout is shaped differently so there is not one drop of cofee spilled. It comes with the black lid. I'm loving it and have pushed off buying a new coffeemaker for the time being. The order came in a timely manner and we couldn't be more pleased.
I did not notice the cover was broken at the hinge when I unpacked it. I do not use this item very often so it was a while before I discovered the damage. A very costly item especially since it was obviously repaired, oozing glue around the handle
