If you use an internet phone connection you might need to get an adapter. This is just a regular landline phone.
I'm so glad I bought this one. It's so cute in her room, and definitely has a "classic" look. She squealed when she opened it.
It worked perfectly, we have had none of the issues with static that some other reviewers have mentioned. It sounds crystal clear when she calls me multiple times a day ;-)
To the distributor's credit, a replacement phone was eventually sent. That replacement phone had very distorted sound, but it was briefly able to make phone calls — before it died completely a few days later.
Another replacement phone was sent, and it also had very distorted sound, making it hard for callers and listeners alike to hear what each other were saying. That one last about a month before it also stopped working.
Attempts to deal with these issues with the distributor Retrovisions were frustrating; the contact person tended to ignore the actual problems with the phone and instead blamed the distorted sound on the phone line (even though the phone line sound clear when I eventually bought another landline phone from a different company and tested the sound on the line). When I pointed this out in my latest message to this distributor, they didn't even bother to reply.
The distributor Retrovisions' previous comments tended to be snarky, unconcerned and unhelpful, and I guess their plan was to stall long enough so that eventually it was considered too late for me to get a refund, which is what happened.
These mostly plastic Crosley phones look like real phones in the advertisements and Amazon page, but they're not designed to work for than a few weeks — that is, if they even work at all.
