Not thick enough for durability

Not thick enough for durability
I bought the Alvin 3298 shield to replace my 30 year old shield. The Alvin shield measures 0.11 mm thick while the old shield measures 0.14 mm thick. While the difference of 0.03 mm does not seem like much, you have to remember that stiffness is proportional to the cube of cross-sectional thickness. So that 0.03 mm is the difference between something lasting 30 years (with care) and something lasting less than a year with the same care. The new shield is just too flimsy to be durable; it will crease too easily.
