MY SETUP:
I have a fairly extensive flight sim setup. Recently I added an expensive flight sim chair and attached a high end HOTAS system to it. This in addition to all the desk mounted yoke, throttle, CDU, dual monitor, etc. So I needed to move the keyboard and had no place to put it. Both desk and chair are already overloaded. After much searching and reviewing, this seemed like the almost perfect solution. It will allow me to mount the keyboard on my right side just past my joystick and near enough to my mousepad mount. Also, I don't need a keyboard holder with room for a mouse pad. Surprising how hard it is to find one like that! This should just fit my nice keyboard. The only downside I see so far, is it lacks a tilt feature. But if that makes it less wobbly, then it is a good trade off. [the above was before I received the unit. the below is after I installed it]
MY REVIEW:
1) Materials/construction quality-
A) ARMS: The aluminum arms are outstanding. Very solid. The metal mount to the wall is a tank, if you drill holes into a wall stud. I used a 1/4" drive ratchet for the 13mm socket, and that was a challenge. Use a 3/8" if you can. But, besides a sore palm, that thing is never coming out of the wall. Most of the arm hardware is metal. The only downside is the plastic sleeves that are in the pivot holes. One was not glued in very well and kept falling out when I was working on the install. Be sure not to lose the little metal tab that may fall out, as mine did. Because of that I give this category 4/5 stars.
B) KEYBOARD HOLDER: Almost a fail here! Yes, it is sturdy enough. But that is the only good thing. It is super slick plastic (dust and fingerprint magnet). It does NOT tilt forward, only sideways (Why?). The mouse plate (which I did not even need) slides freely thru a slot on each side. It constantly slides when trying to mount the thing. I finally stuffed some packing foam into it to keep it closed. I doubt it would be very sturdy if I did need to use it. Very thin plastic. I love the width of the holder...just right for my keyboard, but the depth is way too large. I don't need the tape and stick wrist pad that is to be stuck in front of the keyboard. The keyboard is floating in the air and my wrist doesn't even need to touch it. I have it mounted to my right side, and there is very little room. In fact I ended up just using one of the 2 arms (an option indicated in the instructions) and it places it in just the right spot. I wish the keyboard, sliding mouse tray complex was just a solid piece. I would cut it down to a size better for my needs. 1 star.
2)Design:
I love the arm design. The heavy duty aluminum looks great as part of my extensive flight sim setup. Hate the keyboard design. The arm looks industrial, the keyboard holder looks like Mattel toys made it (they might do a better job). There have been several complaints about it in other reviews. It is time it was updated for the 21st century. 3 stars.
3) Price:
It is pricey. But I could not find anything close to it for my needs, so on the one hand I am willing to pay more for what I need. On the other hand, given the issues mentioned above, I cannot say it is completely a premium product at this premium price. 3 stars.
4) Instructions/installation:
Instructions are not the worst I have seen. Be sure to read through them a few times before doing the install. There are some page number errors, and near the beginning it seems to be talking about a monitor holder, not a keyboard holder, But it is doable.
The install of the bolts takes work, but it is appropriate as it gives the whole thing a sold mount. I feel confident in everything up to the keyboard holder (which oddly uses very small screws...if you strip any you are screwed!) 3 stars.
OK....that is it. I have not finished tweaking the tension adjustments, but they seem fairly straight forward. I want to use it awhile and adjust as needed. All in all, I am leaving my rating at 3 stars. I think it will work well enough for some and be a pain for others.
However, my issue was that the tray would vibrate quite a lot as I would type and I couldn't really rest my wrists on it without making it move out of place. This was unrelated to the fact that it was attached to the desk pole instead of a wall.
PLUS the mouse tray was really janky. They use an extremely cheap setup to make the tray glide from one side to the other. They placed two thin pieces of tape on 2 small plastic divisions underneath the tray. That was supposed to make the tray glide. Probably not a great idea to begin with. However, the tape was maybe 1/4" wide and the plastic division it was stuck to was probably 1/20" wide. So it's like trying to make cellophane tape stay put on a toothpick. Of course the tape started falling off the thing as soon as I started using it and within just a few minutes, it came off one end and got stuck inside the keyboard holder. I had to rip the tape apart to get the tray to move.
Returned it and went with the Ergotron Workfit-S instead. Much more stable.
These arms are wonderful & will last a life time.
Not as adjustable as they say.
Don't waste your time or money here.

Great job!
It is solidly built and very versatile. The pressure in the arm can be adjusted to release slower or faster as desired and can move +/- 150mm apr. up/down. Watch when you lift the keyboard off the tray! The keyboard tray can be tilted to prevent RSI also.
I was worried about the weight of the arm and the wall fixings. My walls (brick) aren't the best but the fixings supplied are massive (2x 80mm, M8) . You'll need a 13mm socket to tighten these. I used a drill fitting but there wasn't enough torque so i ended up twisting the drill round. I did slight damage to the metal mount but there are facings supplied to cover the screws. Just ensure the screws are level and everything should be good.
It does seem to be quite expensive (£195 at this time) but i would not hesitate in recommending this item.
I bought for home use but this is seriously professional kit.
