The NT65MA4 accepts 15-gauge nails ranging in length from 1-1/4 inch to 2-1/2 inch at 34 inch. The angled magazine allows the nailer to fit in tight corners and awkward spaces with ease. Key Features
|
|
|
|
---|---|---|---|
Tool-free depth of drive adjustmentTool-free depth of drive adjustment takes no time with the dial located conveniently under the non-slip elastomer grip trigger. Adjustments can be made depending upon the density of material and air pressure required. Then nails can be set consistently for improved control and a professional finish based on the application. |
Fully adjustable exhaustThe 360 degree fully adjustable exhaust can be directed away from the user so that air exhaust, debris and oil are avoided. The NT65MA4 requires oil occasionally to keep the tool lubricated and functioning at optimal performance. Always refer to the owner’s manual for recommended routine maintenance. |
Selective actuationA simple flip of the selective actuation switch allows for either sequential (pull trigger, depress tip to drive a nail each time) or contact fastening (nail drives each time the tip makes contact) with no additional parts or tools required. |
Air DusterHitachi designs nailers around applications. This attention is evident in Hitachi’s development of the unique air duster button on the NT65MA4. The button, located above the grip and easily reached, allows air from the compressor to bypass the nailing function and expel from a hole in the front of the tool. The user can clear away debris and dust from the work surface in preparation for nailing or gluing or just do clean up; saving time and energy. |

I use my new Hitachi15-guage nailer for projects that usually call for 3/4 plywood or boards and have been as happy as a kid with a new toy. I chose Amazon because the total price, including shipping, came in at least $20 below any other supplier. Through experience, I've discovered that Amazon's support and return policies make these concerns a non-concern. After more than 5 years of dealing with Amazon, I find their support team does whatever I ask.
So far, I've encountered no problems with the nailer. A welcome extra is that it includes a well built carrying case with enough room to include safety glasses and extra nails. I'd recommend carefully reading the operating instructions as the nailer has a dangerous feature permitting semi automatic firing by simple continuous squeezing of the trigger as you bump the nailer against what is hopefully your work piece, but as easily could be your hand, foot or knee. Watch out.
There is also a feature that, when called for, will blow debris away from the immediate work area. I didn't think this would be much help, but have come to use it much more often than first expected.
When I first started using it the brads went in a little deep. As the old saying goes, "When all else fails, READ THE DIRECTIONS." After minor adjustments the brads went in like a dream. I have had the MA4 for over a month and have fired over 500 brads with no misfires. I am presently working on some outdoor Christmas decorations and the MA4 is working like a charm. It is dependable and consistent. The more I use it the more I love it. What more can I say. It is just a great tool to have.
Regarding the reviewers who complain about plastic parts, please know that modern plastics used in the right places in tools serve far better than metal. Plastic is in many cases stronger, it doesn't bend or kink when dropped, it is naturally slippery so works better for nail magazines, and it doesn't rust. I have lots of power tools with proper plastic parts and have NEVER had a problem with a plastic part failure.
The newest airliners are now being constructed of plastic . . .
