Best one I have ever used. Watch for sale prices!
I put these in my cart and let them sit until I got a notification that a cart item had changed price. When I checked I was stoked to see these dropped to $6.99. I changed my quantity to 4 then and have since order even more at the sale price for gifts. I have been doing scouts for over 20 years, first as a scout myself, and now a leader. This fire starter is hands down the best I have ever used. When I received them I opened one up and looked it over. Solid case that when opened gives plenty of handle for both the starting stick and striker. It felt good in my hands unlike most that dig into your hands as you grip it hard enough to strike it. I scraped it over my wife's fairly new stainless steel sink a couple times and you could tell it was scraping off a protective coating of some sort. One the coating was scraped off in a spot I could feel the grittier feel as the two pieces scraped across each other. The next scrape resulted in a massive piece of flaming and smoking striker fuel flying into the sink. It landed in the bottom of the sink and still had a violent flame for what seemed like a second or two. I actually said "holy crap" out loud which then drew a "what did you do" from my wife in the other room. After the spark extinguished there was a pretty good black burn mark in her sink and luckily it wiped out easily as I replied to her "oh nothing". I put one of these in each vehicle, each 72 hour kit, and in my emergency preparedness pack. If I was on naked and afraid and had to choose between this and a lighter, I would pick this every day. I think it adds at least 10 points to your PSR!
