    A VERY BIG MISTAKE
    1 Star
    A VERY BIG MISTAKE
Anyone in search of a router for their modem please do yourself a favor and be very careful in how you go about shopping for a router because I just got finished within a month ago returning a defective one back to Amazon that if I knew what was wrong with it in the first place I never would have bought it. Around 3 or 4 months ago where I live there was a very bad rain storm that knocked out power here and disabled my internet for 4 days. When the power was restored, somehow my router went defective and I was never able to get it working again. So I began shopping around for an exact replacement for this router and found one on Amazon. I paid close to $50 for it and later found out that I could have gotten a wireless one for the same price. This router I bought as a replacement was called a cable/dsl type. Well, I got it connected just like the original one I had and after I got it connected, there was a problem. I did everything I could think of to get it working but no luck. I contacted by internet service provider and we went through the steps necessary to get it working. We must have spent around an hour doing different combinations but still no luck. So then they told me to contact the manufacturer and get help there. I did and spending around an hour we still could not get it working. So then they asked me for the serial number on the router. When I gave them the number, they told me the router's warranty expired August 29, 2009. And because of this, they could not help me get it going. So then I contacted the seller at Amazon and had to pay out of my pocket to have it sent back. So, anyone who is wanting to buy a router, do yourself a favor and demand the seller give you the serial number before you buy it because you may go through the same thing I just went through. And to help you, here is the serial number of the defective router: C2129AEF3B6. If you buy a router with this serial number, demand the seller reimburse you for the return shipping because they sent you a defective router. If the seller still gives you trouble, contact Amazon and report them.

The only thing missing in the description is that, that switch, will need an adapter to work in US and Canada. See the item code and it ends with UK. So check the photo and you’ll see the kind of adapter that came with it. But after exchanging some emails, got a fair solution for the problem. Rare are companies that understand their mistake and provides Ty a good solution for the customer. I recommend RareWaves as a good supplier.
