While I don't see myself buying 5 of these to stash everywhere, I'm happy I tried these out. They come in the trademark "splash case" which adds value to the purchase. I WILL carry these on my keys, and I can possibly see sneaking another one in on a future purchase.
I do see 2 very tiny springs, which I hope will last and stay secure for a long time, but if they break or stretch, I'll simply contact True Utility to make it right. Also, I wonder if the small file will wear from my keys rubbing it. I guess I'll find out.
If you're a prepper, this won't be at the top of your EDC (every day carry) list, but you would be wise to include it. Rugged, compact, and when you split a nail starting your campfire to cook the bear you just snared with your 2 fish hooks and 550 paracord, you will be happy you have these.
Guys, if your woman is a gadgety lady, she'll love these as a tie-on to the bow for a bigger gift, or simply as a "just because" gift. Especially if she has a key ring that's registered as a deadly weapon in 7 states and 3 countries.
UPDATE: After less than a month of carrying this on my key chain, the clipper handle does not stay in the locked position at all anymore. It pops open in my pocket, or whenever I so much as touch it. The lock is substandard and basically I have just a regular pair of clippers now. So the reason I bought this in the first place was so I could carry it with me all the time and it was slim. As it turns out, a regular pair of clippers works better to carry around. VERY disappointed in this product. I am downgrading this item to 2 stars, fortunately I like the way it clips my nails, but other than that, forget it.
My first one failed after years of faithful service on my keychain. The spring that runs the main mechanism started to wear, then lost it's grip... which I reset several times, but the fatigue prevented the clips from being consistently closed in my pocket. All-in-all, great lifespan for a tool, and I will continue to purchase every few years as long as the quality remains the same or better.
Oh yeah! It also comes in a handy water proof storage container that you can use for whatever you like. Interesting packing idea.

However I have had two problems with mine:
The mechanism for stowing them is really stiff and basically doesn't operate on it's own, it's supposed to be spring loaded but the spring doesn't have enough power to overcome the friction of moving the locking piece, so you have to push quite hard to unlock them as you're fighting the spring and the friction. Along with this they won't automatically lock closed so you have to make sure you've positively locked them closed before putting them away. This may just be manufacturing tolerances on my one, but it's not something that's really fixable as an end user.
The attachment mechanism is just a wire loop on the end and because of the way it's designed it's GOING to work loose over time. Unfortunately there's no way I can see for them to fix this short of trying to peen over the ends of the wire where it goes through the frame of it but this would be practically impossible because of the close spacing of the pieces.
I've now lost the wire attachment piece. I can still use the clippers quite happily and just have to stow them in my bag instead, but I would not recommend these for carrying on a key-ring.
