    LOVE THIS CAMERA!!!
I did a lot of research for a second camera to supplement my Canon DSLR, and decided on this. I had second thoughts after seeing how most newer cameras had a 1" processor and 20+ MP, so I cancelled the order. It was to late and the order came on a Sunday, so I worked with the camera. It was fantastic. As a Canon user already, i found the controls to be very intuitive. I have a touch of arthritis in my hands, but the solid, slightly larger body and dials were easy to use. I took a variety of images in various conditions, and the camera performed beautifully. I shoot in RAW, but the full auto setting don't allow that (a minus, but not a deal breaker). The viewfinder could be better, but I wear glasses so viewfinders are always a pain for me.I took the camera to the local camera shop with the intention of upgrading to a more expensive device with more bells and whistles, and they let me use my memory card to compare. Nobody could spot a difference in image quality in side-by-side comparisons of identical images taken with identical settings to cameras costing twice as much. The battery life on the G16 is amazing compared to the swivel screen models, which almost force one to buy spare batteries.I kept the G16. I did buy a wrist strap, because it comes with a neck strap, which is stupid for a small camera. This thing is a brick. it feels great and takes pictures as good as or even better than my 6 year old EOS DSLR. The view screen is bright and clear and I use it far more than I thought I would. The attached image of the statue was shot with the zoom out all the way. The snowflakes are crystal clear.I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the wifi was ridiculously complicated to setup to my phone (and cumbersome to use once it's setup), the viewfinder could be larger, and RAW should be available across all settings. Minor inconveniences, but annoying nonetheless. I would highly recommend this camera. For the money, it can't be beat.Canon user for 35 years, experienced amateur photographer.
